All new genuine Epson ink cartridges have an Intellidge Chip (the green chip) including the models you have mentioned.

It allows for the safe removal of ink cartridges, the chip records data such as installs and head cleans – it tells the printer what cartridge it is and estimated ink level (i.e. full, low, empty). Ensures the wrong ink cartridge (i.e. for another printer) is not used, which could damage the printer (wrong ink etc.)

what is the name of this song?

That would be because you cannot. Epson printers use colour to print black.

The colour is used to darken and sharpen black ink to create a truer tone.
This feature is part of the printers firm ware and cannot be overridden.

You do need to replace the colour cartridges in order to continue printing.

Refilling will usually cause some very ugly printing quality. It is better to buy new cartridges.

    Just a little advice.

You will need to use the tuner in your VCR. The VCR will have a video out that you can run to your projector. Another way to do it is if you have a cable box. The cable box also has a video out. If you have your VCR setup already just use that. I use my PJ for the super bowl as well. This is how I do it.

Since March 2007, printer companies won the right in the U.S. to refuse to accept compatible cartridges. I dont know how it affects you blokes across the pond. Now a cartridge has to be 100% compatible and many arent. Also some distributors are stuck with a lot of the older ones which they are pawning off on unsuspecting customers. So make sure whatever you buy has a money back guarantee.

You should always prime the printheads after changing ink cartridges. Open your printer utility software and, print a nozzle check and clean the printheads if necessary.

It's very common for ink to dry in the inkjet nozzles but there are ways to minimise the problems you seem to be experiencing.

Visit help page at Inkjet Oasis. You'll find a quick and easy guide on how to get your Epson printer working again, plus there are a few tips on how to prevent clogs in the future.

Check to see if it is PAL or NTSC format. In North America it is NTSC. European power is usually 220 volts. and North American is 120 volts
